Church leaders must understand the principles of faithfulness and servitude, especially concerning pagan holidays. If a leader is unfaithful to Christ, what example does that set for those new to the faith, who lack experience, knowledge, or wisdom? How does such action differ from the devil, who drags creation into his rebellion? The two souls you might try to save will never justify the millions you lead astray.

Application for Halloween

A Christian may have prayed, studied, and concluded with a clear conscience that handing out candy and wearing a non-demonic costume is a neutral act, a form of cultural engagement.

However, if their participation:

· Causes a new believer, who is freshly freed from occult practices, to doubt and stumble.

· Confuses a seeking non-believer by blurring the lines between light and darkness.

· Gives a fellow Christian with a more sensitive conscience a reason to judge them, thus creating division...

...then the higher law of love and unity is triggered.

The sovereign choice is to surrender the freedom to participate. This could look like:

· Turning off the porch light and having a family movie night.

· Hosting a "Fall Festival" at the church as a clear, unambiguous alternative.

· Simply being absent from the festivities, offering no justification other than "I am called to something else tonight."

This is not a defeat. It is a victory. It is the Ego laying down its "rights" so that Humility and Love may reign. It proves that the individual's identity is not in their freedoms, but in their fidelity to the covenant and their love for the other members of the body.
