"The seed of sin, often planted by external temptation but nourished by our own sinful nature, first takes root in our heart and mind. We must pluck it out with the truth of God's Word. Take lust, for instance: it is the deceptive desire for what a person or thing promises to do for me—a role only God should fill. This deceptive promise was at the heart of the Fall, where the pride of wanting to be like God led to the act of disobedience. Thus, whether in the naive or the knowledgeable, the fall begins with believing the lie that God's design can be improved upon.

Our eyes are drawn to beauty, but lust is not for the beauty itself; it is for the deceptive promise of fulfillment that it offers. This deception can originate from our own sinful desires or from the lust of others, which uses beauty as a vehicle. Ultimately, whether the source is internal, from other people, or from unclean spirits, we are called to trust only the perfect standard of God's Word to measure and judge all such visions, revelations, and desires.

Our faith is founded not in our own belief, but in the unwavering truth of the Word of God. As followers of Christ, we are called to imitate Him (Ephesians 5:1). This includes exercising spiritual discernment, just as He did, so that we do not unknowingly test God.

Since Yeshua (Jesus) is the living Word of God (John 1:1), His life and teachings become the ultimate Standard by which we measure all things. The Word of God is supreme above all. Therefore, every teaching and experience must be tested against this Standard to guard against deception (1 John 4:1).
